Vivienne Westwood designs Costumes for the Vienna New Year's Concert 2014

I love January 1. Everything is so fresh and full of promise (and you still actually believe that you're going to stick to your New Year's Resolutions;)) True, I am usually a bit tired from partying all night, but I love waking up late, having a cup of tea while nursing my hangover and watching the ''Wiener Philharmoniker'', the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's New Year's Day Concert. The best hangover cure ever!

This year, the enfant terrible, the first lady of Punk, Vivienne Westwood, was chosen to design the costumes for the intermission ballet. Needless to say, most of her designs are based on the timeless tartan which looks amazing on the dancers. They remind me of little punk fairies floating in the air in their little tartan dresses. In black ballet shoes. This is Vivienne's Wonderland.

The dresses for the second act of the ballet intermission were a bit more classic. I love the fact that they look like ball gowns from the Cinderella's ball - with really opulent crinolines! The color palette is also more neutral, ranging from colder tones, sandy and baby blues to warmer tones, golds and rich plums.

Hope you had a fabulous New Year's Party!

Love,

Tejaxoxo
